Sukkot 2006 The Temple Mount (part 2) From the north, looking south: here is the Dome of the Rock, the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet.
There are some additional buildings on the temple mount. The coverings are possibly cisterns.
Todd Bennett brought the living water collected at the spring near the Pool of Shiloach and poured it out near the probable location of the alter, which was done on "the last great day of the feast."
The dome of the spirits is likely over the location where the ark of the covenant sat in the temple.
These straight stones probably indicate the outline of something beneath (the holy of holies). The rest of the stones in the plaza are irregular in alignment. These stones form a straight line.
The inside of the dome of the spirits. The corner stones may mark the tops of the pillars of the "hydraulic system" as suggested by Micheal Rood.
More irregular stones with one row of straight stones.
A building to the north side of the temple mount patio.
A view of the north to northwest side of the platform, with the dome of the spirits dwarfed by the gateway arch in the distance.
The building next to the dome of the rock
Just off the temple platform to the east on the other side of a gate is an area where there are building supplies and lots of trash. Are the Muslims putting in replacement stones to hide the evidence of the temple below?
