The Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation tell the story of redemption that the Creator God has orchestrated on behalf of fallen mankind. Beginning with the substitution of a faultless animal offered as substitute for the payment for human transgression, to the ultimate righteous sacrifice of a perfect human being as a substitute for all of the guilty human race, Elohim has provided an atonement so that humans can regain what was lost because of sin. Yet, without the teaching and reality of resurrection, all of the teaching about redemption and atonement would be in vain. It is the resurrection which promises life after death. So, the resurrection is crucial in the whole scheme of things, biblically speaking. Let's take a look, then, at the multiple examples of the Scriptures teaching about resurrection from the dead. It might be surprising to you, the reader, how much is taught throughout the Bible about rising from the dead. The Resurrection in the Offering of Isaac The first example of the Bible teaching resurrection is found in the account of Abraham being ordered to take his son Yitzchak (Isaac) to a mountain to offer him up as a burnt offering. Now it came about after these things, that Elohim tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." He said, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Yitzchak, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you." Genesis 22:1-2 The story always brings questions about Elohim's character that He would command Abraham to sacrifice his own son. This is unheard of and is certainly against
