The
Torah Portions
This web page contains links to each of the Torah
parshiyot
- the weekly Torah portions. These pages are to be a repository of
information such as study notes, word studies, insights and interesting
facts about the contents of the topics covered in the Torah. Check
back later if the information you seek is not yet published here.
The Torah portions are determined by two factors. First, the
portions each deal with a particular theme, which runs throughout the
text. Secondly, the portions are somewhat delimited by the length
of the text, so that no one portion is two long to be read and discussed
within a session. Each portion is given sufficient time on the
Sabbath to read and midrash, which is to discuss (and even debate) the
meaning and application of the text.
The format of our studies is as follows: each of these parashah studies will
begin with the theme or overview of the parashah, followed by the
sedarim, which is the order or outline of the text. Next, the text will be given by
section, followed by any pertinent word studies, discussion, explanation
and difficulties of the meaning of the text.
Over time, and particularly when the Shabbat comes for the reading of a parashah, these pages will be changed
and updated as I come across pertinent data and have the time - Yah
willing. I hope that this
library will be a helpful resource to you as you seek to gain
understanding of the Torah and its application for today.
